Bryce Canyon is one of Utahs Most Underrated National Park. This National Park is absolutely breathtaking. Over the years this has become one of my favorite places to travel back to and explore. Each time I have gone I discover something new and hike a different trail. When you take a trip to Bryce Canyon be prepared to hike your legs out because there is so much to see in this National Park you don't want to waste any time so you can see all the amazing trails through the park. No furry friends are allowed on the trails within National Parks though unfortunately. Check out some of the top hikes in Utahs Most Underrated National Park!

Fairyland Loop
One of the most famous and well known hikes is called the Fairyland Loop. This loop is approximately 7.8 miles and takes just short of 4 hours to complete. There is lots to see throughout this hike. You are able to hike up close to the rock formations and the trail weaves you through them, so at some points you are surrounded by these tall gorgeous red rock formations. We packed a lunch and stopped right off the trail at this beautiful overlook to refuel and rest our legs mid hike!

Peekaboo Loop
Another hike is Peekaboo Loop, this hike is about 5.2 miles to do the whole loop. According to the National Park website this hike falls into the category of a moderate hike due to some parts that are very steep. This hike is another wonderful hike that doesn't take more than a couple hours. This hike has rock archways that you walk under and beautiful look out points. Peekaboo Loop is in the heart of Bryce Canyon.

Hoodoos Hike
An additional Trail that is a must do in Utah's Most Underrated National Park, is the Hoodoos Hike! This trail offers unique views that can only be seen here! The rock formations are stacked in the most peculiar yet stunning way! The trail is advanced just like Fairyland Loop but is one that is a must see!

Where to Stay
Bryce Canyon also has camping options available! This is the route we decided for our most recent trip to Bryce Canyon National Park. There are two campgrounds: North Campground and Sunset Campground. Depending on the time of year the campgrounds are usually first come first serve. For tents it is a $20 charge per site each day. There are community bathrooms with running water and dish washing sinks to make for easy clean up! Do note though there are no showers.
Our Experience
Each campsite also has a fire pit with a little grill slate over, this was our absolute favorite part after a long day of hiking! Something we did was prepack our dinners so all the prep was already done, then we just heated them over the fire and enjoyed ourselves. Another thing we really liked about camping in the national park is we just walked to all the trailheads and never had to deal with parking. The campsites are near many of the trail heads and makes it super convenient to literally just get up and go!

Inspiration Point
Utahs Most Underrated National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park is a must visit park. We camped at Sunset campground for 4 days and were not ready to leave. Something we found and absolutely loved was the location of the sunset campsites. These campsites were a very short walk to many trailheads. One of our favorite ways to spend our evenings was when we would get back from a long day of hiking we would play a board game, usually clue. After our game we would take a short walk out to Inspiration Point and watch the sunset. It was so beautiful the way the sun would shine in the rocks and through the valley. We also hiked up to Upper Inspiration Point one night, also just beautiful. But the convenience of the campsites is really so amazing and just makes the whole trip much more enjoyable because you are hassling with moving your car and can just take a walk.
Packing Essentials
You can NEVER be over prepared!
Something to remember though when planning a trip to Bryce Canyon is the weather. The weather changes and can do wild things. I suggest packing more than you need. During the day we were in shorts and tank tops but then at night we were all kinds of bundled up and in big jackets huddled around our fire pit. All these photos are taken from the same trip…. Yes the photo down below has snow in it. It snowed the last night of our trip and that is an experience like no other to be cooking your dinner over fire in the middle of a snow storm. Bryce Canyon was a trip to remember and a must do again type of trip!!! For other trip inspiration or to learn about the other national park hidden gems check out our travel page!
