Looking for a way to brighten up your apartment or home? The answer is plants. Plants add so much life (literally) to a space. I think the different textures and greenery are a beautiful addition to any space. BUT let's talk real for a second. I am not home on a consistent schedule nor do I have the best of memory to remember that my plants need water. I understand the struggle! I have become obsessed with these little self water bulbs that you place in your plant pot. These cutesy bulbs come in all sizes and colors and are so handy! Depending on your plant will depend how often you fill the bulbs. Personally I have my plants on a weekly fill up schedule, every Friday the bulbs get new/more water. Here is The 10 Best Houseplants For Your Home.

1. Cactus. Nearly impossible to kill. Haha unless you over water them… so just be mindful of when you water them.
*** A watering tip*** for cactus and succulent type plants once a week (I do Friday’s so I remember haha) place an ice cube into the pot and this will slowly release the water so it doesn't drown but also water your plant.
2. Succulents. These babies are pretty easy to maintain. Just be sure to not OVER water them. I would use the ice cube method I mentioned when watering these. Also it is so important that these plants are able to completely drain and not pool water at the bottom of the pots.
3. Christmas Cactus. This plant is absolutely beautiful. She is full and very green. And then around christmas (sometimes surprise blooms happen too) time these beautiful blooms grow flowers and it's my favorite! This plant is also very easy to start growing a second one in a jar of water and give to friends, which I love!
4. Bamboo. I love my little bamboo. I bought him at Ikea years ago for a few dollars. I placed my bamboo in a tall glass vase and filled it about halfway with water. Simple as that. Every couple months when I notice the water getting gross I clean it out and give some fresh water! By far the easiest plant to keep alive!
5. Money Tree. This is one of my newer editions to my plants. It is already growing and if I do say so myself simply thriving. I have a water bulb in this plant as well!! Also the rumor/legend is as long as your money tree is growing and thriving so will your finances, so we will see ha.

6. Snake Plant. Ok moment of honesty… I definitely killed my first snake plant I owned. It was before I discovered the watering bulbs and I left on a trip and she tragically never recovered. I am planning on round two though because these plants are low maintenance. Snake plants also have golden highlights on the leaves and it's just too cute!
7. Cornstalk Dracaena. Tall and strong. The trunks of this tree look like bamboo but the leaves kind of look like a palm tree. It is such a sweet addition to my apartment. And VERY low maintenance.
8. String of Pearls. Little tiny beads all strung together, that's why it's quite literally called string of pearls. Super fun hanging plant.
9. String of Turtles. I think this concept of these leaves is so cute, they look like mini turtles all over the plants. Also a very fun hanging plant!!
10. String of Hearts. This plant has cute accents of pink on the leaves andis just a different but still plant pop of color. Guess what? Also a very fun hanging plant!

I would say these are The 10 Best Houseplants For Your Home, and the ones I have had the most success with in my apartment. These are all currently or have been in my home and I have just loved them.
Let's take a second to talk about planters though. My new found obsession and addiction is these hanging disco ball planters. They are literally mini disco balls you can place a plant inside of! I don't think it gets funner than that. I just bought them so they have not been blessed with a plant yet but still shimmering in all their glory.
The most important thing about picking plants to add to your home is something that is going to make you happy. I think plants are such a beautiful way to bring God’s creation and beauty right into your home. I love adding new plants to my apartment and I hope you were inspired to go buy a new plant!!
