Hey friends! We just had our Spring Break in Arizona! We are originally from Arizona so we have lots of family that still live there. The drive from Colorado to Arizona is roughly 12 to 13 hours…. so in other words a very very long drive. We headed out on a Friday morning nice and early. On our way to Arizona we stopped off at our regular freeway exit (Paseo del Norte) in Albuquerque, New Mexico for some lunch at Chipotle. After lunch we got our caffeine fix at the Starbucks right down the road and we were back on the road anxious to see family. Later on in the day we drove through Hatch, New Mexico. There are so many chiles… haha because that is where Hatch Chiles are from, like the ones in the little can from the grocery store (the more you know). We FINALLY arrived in Arizona that night pretty late. The next few days consisted of seeing family, going swimming, and eating a lot of In and Out Burger along with Eegees. If you have never been to Tucson, Arizona and are planning a trip there you have to try the local restaurant chain called Eegees. They have sandwiches and delicious fries and these drinks called Eegees, they are basically better than slushies!!
What we did in Arizona
Tuesday we went to the Reid Park Zoo with our Grandma. This zoo we have been going to since we were really little with our Grandma. The tortoises that are at this zoo are the same exact tortoises from when Ashley was in Kindergarten. We highly suggest the Reid Park Zoo it is worth the trip. Reid Park Zoo is a cute zoo and a lot of the exhibits you are able to almost touch the animals you are so close. Wednesday we went on a super fun hike at Sabino Canyon up to Seven Falls. The hike is about 2.5 miles one way but well worth it!!! At the visitor center you are able to buy a tram ticket up the hill to the trail head so when you start the hike you aren't already wiped. From spots all along the hike you are able to see the city of downtown Tucson, so pretty! When you get to Seven Falls there is water you are able to play in. In stead of just putting their feet in the water Lexi and Ashley decided it would be fun to cliff jump into one of the water holes, the water was FREEZING. Thursday night we ended our fun spring break trip with our family at Top Golf. If you don't know what Top Golf is it is like a bowling alley but for golfing. Top Golf is a fun place to go with family or friends and spend time together having a good time. After Top Golf we headed over to Frost Gelato. Frost decorates their gelato in the cutest ways and all their flavors, all 40 some, are so yummy! Okay and another thing about Arizona is the sunsets with out failing every night are breathtaking and so colorful! Tucson Arizona has so many different hiking trails and different and unique places to go that we weren't able to squeeze everything into just the one week we were there.
