Lets Get Into It
First off we need to make sure that we are supporting our body by fueling it with the vitamins, minerals, and supplements that it needs. If you don't know where to start on which vitamins to take consider these general ones: vitamin c, vitamin d, zinc, collagen, iron, and magnesium. If you want to dive a bit deeper into what your body specifically needs I recommend finding a natural path doctor and getting your blood drawn and looking over to see what specific vitamins and minerals your body needs (i hate needles too but it's worth it)! I strongly urge you to not overlook taking vitamins, the best way to heal your body is from the inside out! If you want to dive deeper into the benefits of taking vitamins and supplements I recommend researching gut health and the importance of healing your gut!
Secondly, fueling your body with life giving food is huge to live a healthy lifestyle. Life giving food are foods that will support the health of your body and promote overall wellness. Transitioning to healthy eating takes time to retrain your habits, so be gracious with yourself. I could talk all day about the benefits of eating plant based foods, organic foods, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, vegan, and so many other styles of eating, but for the sake of time I encourage you to dig deeper into how these styles of eating could benefit you. A way you could figure out the best eating habits for yourself is just by trying them all out and see what makes you feel the best! Regardless of what your style of eating may look like, be sure that you are fueling your body with life giving foods that are meeting the needs of your own body. Remember everyone's style of eating will look different so try not to compare your eating to someone else's, instead press into how your own body is feeling with the foods you are giving it.
Here are a few of my favorite gluten, vegan, and dairy free products!
Thirdly, you must exercise your body. I know that everyone has heard this before, but it is so important! If you don't know where to start I would recommend trying out different exercise videos on Youtube to see what style of exercise is the most fun to you! I encourage you to remove any existing feelings towards working out like it is a burden, a pain, or something you have to do, change your perspective so that working out is something you are able, equipped, and it's an opportunity to take care of your body. Give yourself permission to take the time to find what workout or activity serves your body the best, be friends with your workout not enemies! As silly as it sounds, something that motivates me to workout is having the perfect workout set or outfit that I feel good in, really puts me in the mood to get moving! Here are some of my current favorite workout sets and gear!
Regardless of how your fitness journey will look, I encourage you to really take the time in setting goals and expectations for yourself. Something that helps me keep my goals on track is using a fitness tracker. I have used a Fitbit and an Apple Watch to help me keep track of my movement! I love to see everything I have accomplished, it is super encouraging! The Fitbit is a great fitness tracker that is more affordable and provides basic features that will motivate you. I am currently using an Apple Watch to track my fitness goals which allows me to track specific workouts, calories, sleep, breathing, heart rate, and a whole lot more.
I hope that this post left you feeling motivated and inspired to start living a healthy lifestyle. Remember to listen, be the advocate, and be gracious to your body! Your body is a temple, start treating it like one!
