Helen Hunt Falls is a 35 foot tall waterfall located in Colorado Springs. On a sunny Sunday afternoon we headed out on a drive to find a place to hike. We drove up North Cheyenne Canyon Road and stumbled upon the parking lot for Helen Hunt Falls. In the parking lot you can see the first set of falls and this gave us an amazing chance to take pictures. The first waterfall was beautiful and we were excited to start hiking up the trail to see the rest of the beauty in store. Starting out on the hike there are stairs that you walk up but immediately we realized this was a well maintained hiking trail and many people enjoyed this hiking spot.

What are the essentials?
After taking this hike this is the list we came up with:
- Walking shoes that feel comfortable.(Lexi and Ashley wore their Chacos)
- Water is a must bring in Colorado always.
- Maybe snacks if you plan to spend a long time at the top.
- Camera of course!
- Tripod (we forgot this and wish we had ours to get a family photo)
Hiking Difficulty
This hike is easy if you are acclimated to Colorado elevation. This hike could be on the more difficult side if you aren't acclimated to the high elevation of Colorado because this hike does contain an incline that could be difficult for those visiting from out of state. But there are plenty of benches and places to take a rest as often as you need along the trail. This is a very kid friendly hike as we saw lots of small kids and families on this hike.
Parking
There are quite a few parking spots available at the trail head. In addition there are more spots available up around the corner if you kept driving up the road. The parking is free!! Also there are restrooms available in the parking lot.
Dog
While hiking Helen Hunt Falls you are able to bring your furry friends as long as they remain on a leash and their friendly dogs. If your dog doesn't do well around lots of people this might not be the best hike for them because this trail is heavily trafficked.
Camping
No camping is allowed in Helen Hunt Falls. However, camping within the area is allowed at Golden Eagle Campground.

The view from the top is amazing!!
When you reach the top of the trail there is an outlook, this outlook looks over the trees and out to the city of Colorado Springs. It is a very beautiful view. The Riehl Family highly suggests hiking Helen Hunt Falls. It is a fun and beautiful trail that is well maintained and made for a fun family hike!
