Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!
If your looking for a great place to go for a fun animal filled day, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has so many different things to see. The zoo sits on the mountainside in Colorado Springs and is a popular place to go when visiting the Pikes Peak area. This unique mountainside zoo is always improving and expanding for more animals. There is multiple opportunities to feed different animals, giraffes and birds being some. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is fun for all ages and filled with so many amazing animals that you are able to get up close and personal with and actually interact with not just observe.
Giraffe feeding
Have you ever fed a Giraffe? You can Now! Check out the Giraffe exhibit at the zoo and have some fun feeding these beautiful creatures! You may even get a kiss!
Take a trip to the Down Under
The Australia Walkabout is a unique place where you can see these cute Wallabies walking and bouncing around.
Kimba the elephant
The day we were at the zoo we were able to watch them as they were doing Kimba's daily exercises. She appears to be a real "gentle giant". You can observe the elephants in the Encounter Africa exhibit.
African Lions
Lots of lions in the Encounter Africa exhibit. I only snapped a picture of this big guy because he was closest and such a Ham! If you want to see more lions check out my video here or at the bottom of the blog.
Every been kissed by an Orangutan?
These Orangutans have so much personality and soak up all the attention. You may get lucky like me and get some kisses. (of course through the glass) You can find them in the Primate World at the zoo.
Ski Ride
In the middle of the zoo there is a ski lift called the Sky Ride. The Sky Ride takes you to the top of the mountain and you can look down on some of the animal habitats along with get a beautiful view of Colorado Springs.
