Hello Living Riehl family! Our adventure took us to Aruba for Spring Break in 2016. The Riehl family absolutely fell in love with the people, culture, and landscape of Aruba. We were swept off our feet at the outstanding blue waters, white sandy beaches, breathtaking fish and reefs, yummy food, kind locals, and the many extractions to do! During our adventure we stayed at the Marriott Ocean Club, which was right on the beach surrounded by clear turquoise waters and white sandy beaches! The hotel was in the middle of the Marriott Surf Club and the Marriott Aruba Resort & Stellaris Casino giving you the capability to you use the pool amenities from all three Marriott’s! All along the beach there was local business’ set up offering tube rides, parasailing, kayaks, wind surfing, paddle boarding, banana boat rides, snorkeling and boat tours, water taxis, and local women giving authentic hair braiding (cornrow designs). How are they able to sell things on the beach you ask, well Palm Beach is a public beach which gives the authority to sell products and run business’ on public property. On the beach there were large cabanas scattered around and everyone had their own space. Right out side of your space in the cabaña was the breath taking crystal clear water of the Caribbean Sea. It was extremely cool because the waters were so clear occasional you were able to see wild Starfish and Sting Rays. On our adventure we went enjoyed tubing on the daily, had the opportunity to go parasailing, which gave us insanely beautiful views of the island, and banana boating. We wished we would have Kayak and Paddleboard, but we did not have time in our schedule to do so. With recommendation from a Concierge at the hotel we schedule a super fun day at De Palm Island. The island is a private owned island with tons of activities to do. To get to the private island the islands bus accommodates you by picking you up at your hotel and then taking you to their private dock. From the private dock you ride over to the island on a boat. All the staff was super friendly and helpful in anything you needed. The island had a huge water park dedicated for little ones, private cabañas in a quiet cove, all you can drink drinks and all you can eat buffet all day, unlimited snorkeling, basketball courts, sand volleyball, and unlimited banana boat rides! We spent the rest of our time in Aruba soaking up the sunshine and beauty. We snorkeled, went tubing, swimming, and basking in the sun just a few steps outside of our hotel room. If you ever get the opportunity to go to Aruba it is going to be well worth your money!!!
